About the role
We are looking for a highly organized, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the technical services team to deliver high level instruction and support to students, staff and researchers in general engineering and fabrication. This post will also oversee the new 3D Factory, an exciting new space which brings together additive and subtractive manufacturing processes in a maker space open to all students.
A strong knowledge of the mechanics of materials and fabrication such as additive and subtractive manufacturing / laser cutting, 3D printing prototyping, precision fabrication / CNC milling machines is essential, as well as managing a small team supporting a range of internal and external clientele.
The successful candidate must have a flexible and innovative approach to supporting the technical service requirements, be proactive in researching new or applicable technologies and have the ability to develop skills in new areas. The role holder will be required to provide an excellent level of customer service with strong people support skills and with the ability to ensure that deadlines are met.
